    Talking LG 840G info share

    At&t SIM but tracfone.

I have been able to add my own pics via microSD card to add wallpapers.
voice recorder format is .amr, they can converted from mp3 clips to .amr and be used as ringtones. I used SUPER
video is .3pg and can be converted or downladed with videodownload helper. SUPER too

    Found elsewhere;
The LG 840g video player can display video in full screen... Here are the instructions:
    1) In PC, using the free Any Video Converter, convert a mp4 file to IPOD mp4 version.
    2) Connect a communication cable between PC and LG 840g.
    3) Directory structure of LG 840g can be viewed in PC.
    4) Copy and paste the IPOD mp4 file to the video sub-folder in LG 840g.
    5) Safe disconnect LG 840g from PC.
    6) Remove LG 840g from cable physically.
    7) Open LG 840g MENU, select VIDEO PLAYER.
    8) See the new video as an icon.
    9) Click on the video icon to play.
    10) The video plays full screen on LG 840g.

I have been able to install google maps, opera mini 7 so far.

Closest phone I've found is T385 model, It is similar to T375, but unlike T375 that has dual SIMs, T385 has one SIM like 840g

I've got the learn bug, is there a main post for discussion here at howard forum for this phone to share and learn tips and tricks, etc.?

I do have one question, on my home page, the toolbar with the call, contacts, messaging, more apps it has an arrow that shows a clock, notepad, various apps, when I click on them, they do nothing, is that normal? any way to enable them?

Pick the ones you want from the tray, click on each and drag them up onto any part of your home screen. You can drag them back and forth. Once you are finished click the arrow again and they will be active when you click on them. Think twice about dragging any shortcut up that you would not want to activate by accident.

    To clarify my previous post:
There are three home screens - contacts/widgets/shortcuts - you are currently on the one shown in orange lettering at top of screen
You can swipe the screen on tap on the word to move between the three.
You can add or remove from each screen (tap the arrow or the gear symbol)

As described on Pages 35-38 of the users guide:

    Why convert anything?

My LG500Gs would use AMR or MP3 for ringtones. No conversions needed.
My wife wife used a recording of my daughter for her main ringtone (still does on her S390G, same recording) and I used some home made MP3s (shortened and compressed to be under 300KB).

You likely can, I'm coming from a W376g and it was difficult to upload own ringtones for me.
