    LG 840g Data over USB?

Been playing with my new LG 840G and can't get my (windows 7) PC to recognize it. I thought the SD card would show up as a removable storage device and I could transfer files to it such as mp3s. Is this not possible with this phone or do I have a bad cable?

    Thanks

Mine is working fine (also Windows 7). Are you sure you are using a data/charging cable and not just a charging cable? Is the card installed correctly?

When I plugged in the cable, within 1-2 seconds there appeared on the phone the message 'Connect as Mass Storage?' or something like that. Did you get that message? Tap 'yes' and the PC recognized it as a mass storage device with a drive letter.

My guess is you have a charging cable, not a data/charging cable.

There's a certain sequence you have to follow. Make sure the screen is on and unlocked, then plug the cable into the phone, then plug into your computer's usb port. If you have a Kindle, its data cable should work with your 840g.

Yes it's compatable for data transferes. It is just a USB Mass Storage device, like a flash/jump drive and many card readers.
