not an extended battery, but I'll get one of the extra battery/ external charger combos. I like the option to just carry an extra battery and slip it in if I need it, but it won't change the thickness and I won't need a different battery door.

Agreed. There will also be no compatibility issues with cases and docks that way as well.

A major part of what makes the Note 2's size manageable is its thinness. The increased thickness of an extended battery could make use and pocketability a bit difficult.

Anyone see an inductive charging back?
Has the user's guide been posted. I saw one marked for US cellular.
    Anyone try to sideload Flash?

I have a N2 with Sprint. Trust me, you don't need an extended battery.

I'm sure you are right. The reports I've seen point to a very strong battery in the GN2.

A couple of additional thoughts on that: I may get this phablet, watching to see how much of the S3 development goodies transfer directly to the GN2. If so, I might get an extended battery just to give it a little heft. I like the feel of substance I get from a slightly thicker handset.

Also, any rechargeable battery has a longer useful life if it is not discharged too deeply too often; frequent charging makes your battery stay stronger longer. So, obviously, a larger battery is using less of its charge capacity between charges. It will not only last longer on a charge, it will also last longer before you need a new one.

I am getting the impression that I may not need an extended battery. So far response is far better than my Bionic.

Response to what? How does your reception compare to your Bionic? Have you traveled?

I am traveling now so I can check that out. Browser and other apps open and function noticeably faster.

I don't think there are any of the necessary inductive charging contacts on the Verizon Note 2. The two gold contacts that you see on the inside of the back are for NFC. NFC is on the battery cover, not in the battery like the Galaxy S3. That's something to keep in mind if you do decide to go with an extended battery. Personally, I think a spare standard battery really is the way to go here.

Flash seems to work fine for me in the quick test I did.

Hmm I forgot about NFC, so I will forget about the inductive charger. What was the URL you used to download thr Flash .apk?

Pretty sure it's still available at the PlayPlace.

Just went to look. That's a mess!

Google is supposed to be all about searching. But the PlayPlace search is not clear at all. I searched on "adobe flash player 11 for android" and got all kinds of unidentifiable garbage back.
