LG Optimus Dynamic (Verizon version of Optimus Logic) at local Walmart

LG L38c Optimus Dynamic is in my local Walmart but not on Walmart's web site yet. Don't see it on ST web site either. $79.95. Has the red map on the box. "CDMA-V"

That give us a fifth VZW-based ST phone (of the smart variety):

    Samsung Proclaim
    Samsung Galaxy S Showcase
    Huawei Ascend Y
    LG Optimus Zip

There is also the Unimax U670, if it ever drops (It is available for Net10 now) and I think one more called the Optimus Ultimate coming soon.

Unimax? What a generic sounding name! Android phones are getting like PCs. Seems like a new company comes on board every week. I like how it drives down the price of smartphones. Good for consumers. Bad for companies like Apple.

Maybe ST will be getting the MXE-680 with jelly bean.

You should have snapped a picture of the box so we could see what it looks like.

Of all the Androids that Straight Talks sells is the Zip the only one with a physical keyboard that is NOT on Sprint's network? Basically looking for a Straight Talk branded Android with a physical keyboard for a family member that is either on Verizon or AT&T's network.

My LG 290C takes lousy pictures but here they are. Looks identical to the Optimus Logic.

I wonder if the ST LG Optimus Dynamic - LG L38c can be rooted and ROM upgraded with some of the existing resources out there .

Will that be worth doing with those entry level phones?

I think it would be beneficial for both Dyamic and Logic. I came from the Optimus V and (hunk of crap radio)Elite phones. I upgraded someone's V (600mhz) equally poorly thought out partition table, to ICS, and its snappy like a new phone with everything working, had I not dropped mine accidentally 10 feet to a tile floor I'd still be using it with the shifty sprint/virgin service.

There's a cyanogenmod for the Optimus L3, this is same hardware but for the radio I believe (both the Logic and Dynamic) The Logic I believe is the L3 but without quad-band, only dual band GSM so different chip I think.

This little puppy is awesome, its a small phone, only drawback is 320x240. Only a few apps suffer with that, some work fine you just have to manually get the apk because Google Play hides some apps for non-standard screen sizes like words with friends.
If your lucky you get it for $38 like I was pleasantly surprised to do when I went to a walmart Two Saturdays after black friday that had two (maybe returns or non-sales from black friday). I got 3Meg down on it on HSDPA. Battery so far lasts a couple days with texting and keeping data connected, heavy use still a full day so far. Had it 5 days now.

You're probably right. The phones look the same to me. How well does the plastic touch screen work?

so far no complaints, haven't scratched it but I dont typically let it fly around in a pocket with keys or other sharp objects. I ordered a silicon condom for the frame and screen protectors for the L3 spec for a total of I think $3 free shipping on ebay. Yeah the entire thing is plastic, but it hasn't bothered me like I figured it might, after 5 days it looks the same and feels fine in the hand.
