    Galaxy Note 2 Signal Problems

Hi, I've been having trouble with my new galaxy note 2. I'm not sure if its the phone or something else but I can't get more than 2 bars of signal anywhere I go. I'm not underground or in an area with weak signals I've checked the coverage maps and everywhere I go I should have good signal. Is there a fix for this?

Did you compare with a different phone ? "Bars" dont mean anything, go to settings - about - status and tell us the signal strength (something ending in dBm)

oh sorry about that I don't really know a lot about phones. I went into settings and it says -111 dBm what does it mean?

That means your signal is not good. The lower number, the better the signal.

My honest opinion is that Samsung generally has weaker RF performance compared to other brands. I would say the new Huawei phones in WIND's line up even do a better job than Samsung however this is only my opinion.

Might help if we had an idea of where "anywhere" is.

So have you never seen more than 2 bars, or are you just saying most of the places you go to don't seem to have more than 2 bars? If it's the former, it definitely sounds like there may be a problem with your phone.

I've seen 3 bars a few times but mostly 2 bars and while at work I have 1 bar and my data keeps disconnecting.

Your opinion is incorrect. Recent samsung phones (note 2) are upto par with nokias. I work in the 2nd basement and the only phones to work here are nokias and note/note 2. Everything else craps out.

I compared 3 separate note / note2 and it was the same story
