Google Ending Google Sync Support 1-30-13

Unfortunately, Google has decided to stop supporting Google Sync (MS ActiveSync protocol) for new free users beginning January 30th, 2013. This means if you are a new user (or activate a new device) after that date you will no longer be able to have your email, calendar, and contacts "pushed" to your device via ActiveSync/Google Sync. You will need to find alternative methods (see link) to get those items pushed to your device. Apparently current free users (only on your current device) will continue to be supported as will (paid) Google Apps users.

This is the reason I ditched using Gmail on my Android, I want all my inboxes on the same app and Exchange sync was the only way. Since I don't really use my Gmail address and it just picks up my ISP POP mail it was easy to switch to outlook.com where they support Exchange (obviously since it's MS).
