How long will it be before Straight Talk canceling account without a new refill ?

I am new to Straight Talk. I have an AT&T sim card, $45 unlimited plan.
From somewhere on Straight Talk web site, it said that it will cancel the account and you will lose the phone number if the account is not refilled are the expiration.

How long does Straight Talk keep an account active (Of course without the refill, there shouldn't be any service.), before they will close the account and the user lose the phone number?

Some of the other services usually have some stated grace period. I did not see it stated anywhere on ST website or documents.

    Thanks.

Some say 0, some say 30 days, some say 90. Take your chances. If you cherish your number, consider porting to GV

The issues with porting your number to GV is the inability to receive normal MMS, as GV doesn't currently support them.

Exactly as cooter55 said, if the service is not refilled and your worry about your precious #, then ST is not for you. Start your service with a postpaid provider. AT&T and T-Mobile. Or do what I do, have your prospective email you the picture, image. Sorry but with GV, you can't have it both ways.

I don't understand the point of them expiring a byod sim. Why not let one be used again? Its like saying no to money ...

As far as a number goes i found getting a new one with st refreshing. Randomly decided to drop the one i had for ten years.

you are the one buying the sim.i dont know if st still has the deal that if you buy a $45 service card and sim at same time the sim is free.
