Great news for Ptel Google Voice users...
I just activated a new Ptel SIM with the $50 unlimted plan on an unlocked iPhone 5 and discovered conditional call forwarding to my Google Voice is supported.
For those of you who don't know what conditional call forwarding is: With it activated, if I don't answer or reject an incoming call, it'll forward to my Google Voice number for voicemail processing.
Happy New Year,
*004*[My full Google Voice number with long distance code]#
For example: *004*12223334444#
This forwards ALL conditional calls.
Complete info on GSM call forwarding can be found HERE on Wikipedia.

Note, you still use plan minutes while the forwarded call is active. So if you are not on an unlimited plan you will pay for the call.

Wow! If this is true, it's a biggie for me! Can anyone else corroborate that conditional call forwarding is working?
Never be afraid to try, but always know where your back up is when you screw up!
Is conditional call forwarding necessary if you don't use your carrier number? If someone calls your GV number, won't Google Voicemail take over automatically if there's no answer within a certain amount of time?
Right now on tmo monthly I do not screen calls on GV, There is some timing change I made (sorry- can't remember exactly what I did ). If you google you will find what you need to do. I have my GV # go to Google voicemail and my tmo # goes to tmo visual voicemail. I did not even shut down tmo voicemail. So it can be done. I have about 4 GV threads I saved in favorites that help navigate all the ins and outs.
When I switch I look forward to not having to do any of that stuff!
OH!! got my sims today!!
Well, I activated my ptel sim on real paygo, and google voicemail is set up with conditional call forwarding and working. I don't have a nickel charge on call forwarded for the test call into my voicemail. It was probably less than 45 seconds from dial to hang up.
This didn't work for me, I got an error:
"Call Forwarding: Connection problem or invalid MMI code"
nevermind - i figured it out , you have to dial **004* <then your number> #
After billing caught up, I am getting charged for the call to my ptel number, then a charge to forward to my google voicemail.
