Not sure why I bothered calling in, but they offered me

    $107
    5.5GB
300 local and unlimited after 6
    caller id/VM3

She made it sound like there were no deals to be had for anyone wanting data.

Has anyone recently gotten a deal with at least 5GB of data for a decent price?

I have, had to switch to a business personal account though then use a friend with exceptional tenure to get the following:

    $65/month

Unlimited Canada Wide Calling/US Calling, as long as i'm in Canada
5 GB's of shared data (have several lines on my account so basically unlimited data)
    Unlimited texting/mms
    VM25

Doesn't get much better than this for me, and there's full subsidy
I USED TO work for Telus Communications (Not Mobility)

Yea...Telus owns my soul, but look at this cool phone I got :-D

That is a great plan. $5 more per month than my 5GB plan but mine is not shared and only have 500 local minutes plus 10 nationwide faves.

I would love to renew my wife's line with what you got when her contract expires in a few months. How did you get it and how long was your friend's tenure with Telus?

I have been with them since 2001.

My friend got it offered to him, so he used that offer and it got it applied to my account as well. My friends tenure was....since '93 with telus.

It's crazy how the big 3 telcos ramp up their prices from a minimum $50/month to $80/month in just 4 years. And still people are willing to sign 2-year contracts.

I'm currently paying $90.40 tax in for 2 phones with 5GB data each. That's equivalent to 1 BYOD plan with 4 GB of data nowadays. So I'll keep it for as long as I can. I wouldn't be surprised if 3 years from now the minimum plans will be in the $100-$110 range.

I was offered $51 unlimited nationwide, text, etc. plus 2GB of data.

They couldn't do anything better except 41$ for 1GB of data and province wide calling. I've been with Telus since 2000.

Forget it. I left for Koodo. $40 for the same thing.

I have two 50$/month 5gig 500 min fav10 lines. However I need two new phones, it is worth holding on to the plan? Considering that I want top of line phone (Note7/S7)?

    For example Rogers has 72$ 7gig everything unlimited with S7 @ 199.
    24x72 + 199 = 1927$

    If I keep my 50$ plan, that would be 24x50 + 910$ = 2110, and that's with 2gig less data.

    Am I missing something?

I tried to call Telus, but they have trouble competing with Videotron and Rogers 7gig promo, since they only have 6 and 8 gig options..

Your $72 Rogers plan is for 2 phones or one phone only?

I've done the math above for 1 phone. You just x2 for 2 phone, the 72$ plan is on their website. Why?

Can you add a line to that plan and share the 7GB?

Personally, I would keep the plan. 7gb is shared while your current plan has 10 GB in total (not shared).

If you get a BYOD discount which is usually 10% off, your monthly will be $90 instead of $100.
