I called one of my local Walmarts today. Just a few minutes ago. They have them in stock right now. I asked which towers they used. The guy wasnt sure. He said he thought Verizon. But of course he didnt know for sure. Hopefully someone will pick one up so we can find out!
I messaged ST on FB and they confirmed that the iPhone 5 will be on Verizon

Where ? I didn't see on their Facebook page anywhere
Just got off the phone with a Walmart wireless guru... both the 4 and 5 are Verizon.
Not good at all folks. I see this as only a 3G device on this service
Not to mention SLOW 3G. Verizon has better coverage, but their 3G service sucks. I stood side by side with an iPhone on Verizon and mine on AT&T (ST) today. The Verizon was 900Kbps down, 342Kbps up. Mine was 3.06Mbps down, 1.16Mbps up. Three times as fast. BUT, the Verizon gets 4 bars to my 1 bar, which means deep inside the building he will get a signal but I won't. AT&T has fast data, but coverage not as good.
Well well looks like CNET lied to me as did PCmag. If its Verizon then at least the 3G will be faster than Sprint god-awlful slower than a snail 3G speeds.
Going to give this a lot of thought now but just made the switch from Sprint to US Cellular 10 days ago...
