Can I use my Verizon iPhone 4S on straight talk?

My contract is ending later this month and I'm intrigued by this new offering.

I believe the 4s is a world phone and the sim is unlocked.

I would prefer to stay on the Verizon network, though, because it is much better than AT&T in my area.

The Verizon iPhone 4S is only unlocked for use on international carriers in the GSM/UMTS mode. Straight Talk will only activate CDMA telephones it sells.

it unlocks the gsm side of the verizon iphone 4s so it can be used, like on straight talk and other networks.
it will only work on the AT&T/T-mobile side of straight talk, if you want to stay on the verizon network
you can only use the cdma phones that straight talk sells.

Verizon is much better in my area but the savings may be worth the occasional dropped call.

Check out page plus. There a Verizon prepaid similar to straight talk. You can bring your 4s over.

That way you could stay with better coverage.

I actually have a Verizon 4s too and unlocked it but it's kind of complicated with the new os and r sim. Probably not worth it.

But page plus works well at some point I'm going back.
