    LG Optimus Showtime now available

Found at Wal Mart in Keene, NH today. Very nice specs, but I could not find a price anywhere.

Dare I say that looks exactly like my LG Optimus L9. The front of the box in your picture says "1Ghz processor." the Optimus L9 has a dual-core 1Ghz processor, so I'd bet money that this phone does, too.

It looks exactly like the LG Optimus L7, or in this case, U.S. Cellular LG Splendor on the "CDMA-V" network.
    You owe me a dollar.

If it's dual core CPU, they tend to say so on the box. When they don't say, be very suspicious. See this pic for the Straight Talk Galaxy SII?

    Plainly says dual core CPU.

If it's the LG Splendor clone, then it's very much like the Verizon LG Revolution that came out early 2011 -- but without the LTE, just CDMA. So, 2-year old crap stripped down specs with ICS 4.0 overlaid -- not even Jelly Bean. ICS was released in 2011, too.

Both the 2-year old LG Revolution and the LG Splendor have 4.3" screen (with Gorilla glass), 1GHz single core CPU, 800x400 resolution.

Here's a couple of bad reviews of the LG Splendor.

Your creed may be interesting, but your deeds are much more convincing.

You can scan for price, or ask a clerk.

Re: LG Optimus Showtime now available

It's the same phone as the boost mobile LG Venice.

Up on Straight Talk's site for $250. A bit much in my opinion.

Straight Talk put the $80 BoostBerry Curve 9310 on Verizon for $130. Their $130 LG Optimus Q on Sprint is the $180 LG Optimus Zip on Verizon. Now they put the $200 LG Venice on Verizon for $250. Apparently, Straight Talk phones are worth $50 more than they were a year ago, so long as they're placed on Verizon.

Does anyone know for sure what the equivalent of this phone is? I've read it could be the Ultimate, the Venice, or the Splendor.

Also, I have the Samsung Galaxy Proclaim now...would this phone be an upgrade for me?

Read the specs. The Showtime is bigger, with a faster processor, and better OS. It is an upgrade, but not sure it is worth another hundred bucks.
Hoping somebody buys one and posts a review. They don't have them in my neck of the woods yet.

Yes, I can read the specs.

Maybe I should have asked, how *much* of an upgrade is this over the Proclaim. They both claim to have 1Ghz processors, just that one is the Snapdragon one is the Hummingbird and I have no idea which is actually faster.

As a general rule of thumb, SnapDragons are designed for lower power consumption and thus a longer battery life. Hummingbirds use more power but have some special chipset built in that helps handle higher-end graphics.

This phone costing as much as the 16gb LG Nexus 4 is a joke. Don't spend $349 on that phone from WalMart.
