Easiest way to tether is tetherme on iPhone. I've been tethering off and on a gig or two at a time for a year with no problems....BUT when you get booted off (with no replacement att sims available) don't create a thread about how your account got terminated
that is funny.
I think that you're more likely to get help on these types of issues at androidforums.com or xda-developers.com.
I've never seen anyone report that they were booted from ST for tethering. However, tethering is prohibited by their Terms of Service. Most people who are booted or have their data shut-off or throttled have reported that they used too much data.
Exactly. It's the amount of data used. Though I must say (and this is why I like a vague, no predetermined data limit, during the last hurricane I was traveling around the state to places with no power (no wifi) and I used around 4.5GB in two weeks with only one warning call after the fact. But I'm sure if you abuse data constantly that will be what gets you in trouble. And computers and tablets pull lots of data ..
I had FoxFi on my phone and used it very sparingly for tablet use when on the road, then a few weeks back I got a update from either ST or Verizon, the update buggered the phone so I called ST and they fixed the problem getting my service back on in short order, but the update removed my ability to use FoFi. So app removed, I think many of the MVNOs are making it where these apps just can't be used.
