Go to XDA forums and there are threads on how to flash the right radios to use Skyrocket on Tmobile.

Shouldn't have to unroot to flash a radio or change carriers. If you're not going to port the number then activate the T-Mo card while you have a few days left on the AT&T card. You can decide which one to let expire or port your current number to GV if you keep T-Mo.

    The reason I suggested a T-Mobile Galaxy S 2 T989 is because it's a quad band HSPA phone (850, 1700, 1900, and 2100). Unlocked it will get AT&T 3G (850 & 1900) anywhere as well as T-Mobile 3G (1700 and 1900) anywhere.

I can think of a major advantage to getting a new Straight Talk phone number: You can reactivate your AT&T SIM (and old number) easily if the T-Mobile SIM doesn't work out well for you (i.e. You spend a lot of time outside a T-Mobile refarmed area).

Maybe someone else can chime in on the length of time your AT&T SIM can remain inactive before Straight Talk marks it unusable.

Porting to GV was just a suggestion in case you wanted to keep your current number while experimenting with different carriers. The phone number, account, and carrier information is all on the sim card. With an unlocked phone all you have to do is swap sim and update APN.

Wow, throttle at 891 MB this month!

Last month it was just a hair over 1 gig I was throttled at. This month it was at 891 megs. Is straight talk becoming more strict in hopes that people will switch to the T-Mobile BYOD sim. Well, if that's the case, it's working as I've been contemplating switching.

On the plus side to that, I have the T-Mobile sim and my wife has the AT&T sim so it's sort of the best of both worlds...

GV = Google Voice. Don't know how you would check for hacks or trojans, I have always unlocked using unlock codes.

Just curious, was there any streaming or tethering involved?

Edit: Wondering if they are getting stricter on total usage, or they are getting better at spotting specific types of usage.

Tethered to nexus 7. If there was streaming, it was very light maybe like a 30 sec youtube clip here and there.

installed teamviewer then they gave me access code but had a dead simple mob sim so they unlocked it from remote, should i restore to factory settings to see if they hacked me through remote assistence?
