I had the same experience back when I had the HTC Hero. The newer phones (Samsung Galaxy S3) are faster on 3G, and LTE much faster too.

I had to ditch the Sprint network because 3G was consistently 0.5Mb/down and 0.02Mb/up which made some apps unusable since the upload was so slow it would time out. The coverage was great (better than T-Mobile in some instances) but it was only good for voice/text since data was so slow.

Darn, LTE is so precious few on Sprint, this will be doomed to their pitiful EVDO for the next >2 years in my market.

Wish they disabled the LTE radio and kept it on VZW

It says 4G LTE. Is it confirmed to be on the Sprint Network?
The red coverage map indicating Verizon is nowhere to be seen...........

One confirmation would be the coverage map on the website, but for whatever reason the "service area maps" took me to a map labeled GSM.

I wonder if this phone will get OTA updates. The ST GS2 is still on GB I believe. Most carriers now have the GS3 on 4.1.2. My GS3 that I had on TM just got the OTA update to 4.1.2 even though I ported it over to net10 a month ago.

If you search for only Sprint network phones (SPR), this phone will show up, so its definitely on the Sprint network.

The box at wal-mart says LTE-S. I wonder why in the hell they have it at my Wal-Mart. Sprint only has EVDO here.
