    HSN: T-Mobile Lumia 521 prepaid $149.99 + free shipping

Who is picking one up? I am seriously tempted to get one and replace a Lumia 710 on my family plan and sell the 710. Downsides are the camera has no flash, no front facing camera, and HSPA+21 data (vs. HSPA+41 or LTE) but for the price.. It's a bargain!
Castrol EDGE 5W-30 is my drug of choice.

I guess I don't resist temptation very well. I ordered one and should have it soon. I'll post a review if folks are interested!

I will score one, obviously, but will wait for Wal Mart to stock them.

I didn't want to wait til May 11 so I just ordered it online. Though, if it's a good phone, I'll probably pick up another one for my aunt.

I would be on this in an instant if I knew that it had the tmobile wifi calling on it. Does anyone know if it has wifi calling enabled? I saw a thread on XDA a week back that said that tmobile was doing a controlled beta on wifi calling for wp8, but I have not seen anything definite. If anyone knows I would appreciate the heads up!

I ordered it Friday and will use it on WM Family Mobile. All I have to do is cut my sim card down or purchase a new activation kit with the new perforated sim cards. I just need something cheap since this is only a secondary line anyway. I also know of somebody who is very happy with her new Optimus L9, which was $199 at Wal-Mart.

T-Mobile support documentation for the Lumia 521 says WiFi calling not available. I bought one also, cheap backup phone for cases like horseback riding, canoeing, mountain biking, etc. where you might not want to use your high-end Nexus 4, iPhone 5, or Galaxy S3.

Does anyone have a shipping date? Mine still says "packaging" at HSN.

I received UPS tracking number yesterday early evening, but UPS tracking still shows information unavailable. It's probably sitting in a warehouse awaiting pickup from UPS. Good to know they're shipping...

512mb or ram, ouch. Alot of games aren't compatible with wp8 and 512mb. It might still be be smooth in the ui but I dunno. Multi tasking on 512 is not very good, imo. Still a good looking phone for $150 though.

I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the Lumia 521. I don't have any experience with WP8 but what little I've heard has mostly been positive except for the dearth of available apps.

I got it for my mom to replace her Lumia 710, and so far, I'm impressed and so is she. You can't beat the price. The newer Snapdragon S4 processor makes an appreciable difference in the smoothness of the phone and I personally just like how fluid Windows Phone is. I had an HTC Radar 4G for a while, and yes, there aren't a million apps but it's a solid OS.

Call quality is great, reception seems good, and the touch screen is dubbed "super sensitive" which indeed it is. You can use your nail or gloves with the touch screen. I had to get special 'smartphone gloves' so I could use my phone while working on my car, apparently the Lumia 521 has no problem.

I'd like to get a short review up soon just so people have an idea of whether or not the phone is for them.

The phone looks great. I've been reading reviews and watching Youtube videos of this model and the Lumia 520 (which appears to be the same phone but is the model sold outside the US?) The reviews tend to call it a "low spec" phone but WP8 seems to run well on lesser hardware. The lack of a flash on the camera is disappointing but everything else about it seems great. I'm also curious about the Nokia software that is included such as Here Maps and Here Music. I really liked Ovi Maps on my E71.

It definitely doesn't look like a $130-150 phone. I'm tempted to pick one up just to get the Windows Phone experience. Perhaps it's fortunate then that all the Walmarts in the area appear to be sold out

Looking forward to your review if you get the chance to post one.
