You will definitely not get 4G LTE, but you will be able to get refarmed HSPA+ "4G". Service varies from location to location.

It depends on which service provider you want to use after unlocking. Some provide 4G and some 4G lte.

In areas that are refarmed Tmobile (where frequencies on 3g/4g hspa plus matches Att's and the iphone's 1900mhz channel) you will get high speed. Check www.airportal.de to see the relevant areas. In non refarmed areas, it will default to 2g/edge. Your max theoretical speed on an Att option (Gophone/mvno) or Tmobile refarmed option will be 21 mpbs though the Verizon iphone supports up to 42mpbs .

LTE is great , don't get me wrong but Verizon is beating the heck out of that label making it sound like it is a superior form of 4G. I'd rather have good hspa plus or wimax then crummy LTE. And right now except for broadband/tablet data, Verizon has zero 4g in prepaid/mvnoland. That said, LTE has a greater future then either hspa plus or wimax. But I'm talking about NOW.
