Using the Net10 ZTE Merit with Straight Talk Sim Card

I'm kinda new to this forum, but a friend of mine just recently gave me a Net10 ZTE Merit z990g. The service to the phone is currently deactivated, but when I dial 611 it directs me to Net10 Customer service. I would like to use this phone with Straight Talk as apposed to Net10. Will a Straight Talk Sim card work in this phone?

    Thank you for your help.

I can tell you that a ST sim will work in a Net10 Merit.

why not use it on net10 like it is intended to or trade it for a st version.

i am sure you buy a net10 pin they will send you a sim for that phone for free.

    Try this:

    1. Buy AT&T-based Net10 SIM kits from here, here, or here.

    2. Go here, then follow the prompts.

    3. Treat the Net10 SIM card like a Straight Talk SIM card.

    4. If it doesn't work that way, call them up instead.

    And vice versa.
A Net 10 at&t sim will work for talk/text in a Straight Talk ZTE Merit. Data also works if you change the apn.
