Page Plus vs. Straight Talk VZ coverage maps vs. Verizon prepaid map

So ST has the GSM/CDMA coverage map backward (compared to Net10) but this I believe is what should be the CDMA map under the BYOD:

Here is Page Plus, notice the holes which you roam in. ST doesn't have the holes:

Now here is Verizon Pre-Paid, holes match up with Page Plus. Is ST lying about their coverage, or do they include the areas that Verizon prepaid and Page Plus roam in?

Just got my Droid X2's in, cannot wait to activate, just need to pull the trigger on which company to go with...

Here is what an old Straight Talk coverage map used to look like, pay close attention to the CDMA-V map (Verizon). Looks like their pre-paid map as well minus the roaming.

This would probably fit better in the Straight Talk forum, since you mainly seem to be questioning the Straight Talk CDMA BYOP roaming. The America Movil CDMA BYOP product maps all indicate roaming, yet the terms of service on the Straight Talk CDMA BYOP seems to link to the Straight Talk site that still reads "If your Straight Talk Service is on the CDMA network, your Straight Talk phone will not roam". Really the only people that should know if a CDMA BYOP phone should roam would be America Movil or people that have specifically tested that feature of the service.

I wouldn't put much faith in coverage maps. Unless you actually go there, it is hard to understand how unreliable they are,

Its possible straight talk gets "post paid verizon coverage" just like Selectel wireless as that coverage map looks close to what's on verizon or selectel wireless site. It is kinda funny a verizon prepaid mvno can get better coverage than their own prepaid plans.

You can't read that Selectel map at all. What does the grey area signify?

OK reading up on Selectel. First their website looks beyond scammy. Even Page Plus has sort of a low end website but they have been around for a long time.

Looks like supposedly Selectel is going to be using the Verizon post-paid voice and text coverage with pre-paid data coverage. Or so they say.

Pretty much the only thing stopping me from going to them is the complete lack of history with them. They are "new" and quite frankly look pretty shady. I used to design web sites for companies, honestly it looks like it was created in about 10 mins by a high school student. And that might even be insulting a HS student...

No corporate address at all? Are you kidding? You guys are OK handing these people your phone number and credit card?

Selectel has only been around a month or so and was apparently started by pageplus dealer.....

Its actually voice/text free roaming (data not included) versus would be paid roaming thru pageplus or verizion prepaid

OK to wrap this up. It appears as though Straight Talk is not being truthful about their coverage map (go figure). They have posted a post-paid Verizon coverage map, but when typing a zip code in KY that corresponds to a hole in VZ pre-paid coverage the web site states service is not available. Glad I didn't switch. Straight Talk is one of those companies that needs to get their crap together, they are intentionally misleading consumers.

This isn't completely accurate. PPC includes free texting in these roaming areas, but not voice. So, voice roaming included on Selectel is the only difference between Selected and PPC. Both include no charge text roaming and both do NOT include cellular data roaming at all.

Apparently the addition of dealers is recent, but considering there is an Android app dating back to January, Selectel was likely selling service months before the discussions on these forums.
