    LG G2 Release Thread

Today it was announced that all 4 major US carriers will get the LG G2. Verizon then posted on their Twitter page an image of the device saying it is "coming soon". I doubt it will be out in August, since there are 4 Motorola phones being released (DROID Ultra, MAXX, mini, Moto X) and the HTC One, which means the LG G2 is looking at September at the earliest.

So has anyone been using the G2, likes, dislikes?
I got one in today for review, which should be up later this week.

The rear button placement does take some time getting use to, and I'm not sure I like it. Keep feeling like I don't know which one of the three buttons my finger is on.
Specs are good, fast performance, nice camera.
1080p LCD screen is sharp and clear.

There is a way I found to get into a hidden menu, dial in ##PROGRAM980 send, code 000000, field test.
You can change the Vocoder between EVRC, EVRC-B, and 13K.

Just from looking at the different carrier versions it really seems VZW messed up the buttons. VZW had to go with 3 separate and similar sized buttons instead of the original up/down one piece seesaw and middle sorta separate second piece for power. That seemingly could effectively ruin what is a bit of a hard sell already to start with.

Leave it to VZW....and now they are rejecting Nexus 7 activations also?

Here's my review between the LG G2 and the Ultra. The button placement with them being redesigned and different from the others G2 models is my biggest gripe about the phone.

I took the update, haven't noticed any differences. Still was able to Root, but haven't tried TWRP yet on it.

Installed TWRP tonight, didn't have any issues with the 11A OTA update
