I get closer to 11-12, which btw is what my ATT service friends get so not convinced they are really throttling here....just that LTE is more saturated than when it first came out.

So does that mean as people switch to LTE than 3G will actually get faster because of less congestion? LoL. I guess it really depends on where you live :P Some parts of my town I can get up to 7mb on AT&T HSPA+ network. At my home I get 2mb. AT&T LTE service is probably 2 years away from coming here. Overall I'm very satisfied with ST and joined em in Jan' 2011. Love $aving a bunch!!

Pretty sure the choke point is the Straight Talk data proxy. Either intentional data throttling to reduce their ATT data charges or their equipment can't handle the subscriber load and needs to be upgraded.

The APN is definitely killing ping times, at the least.

I know. It's really pissing me off too. I have two active ST sims.. The old att. MVNO one and the new tfdata running 4G LTE.. With the old sim in the lte area I'm getting 70ms ping and 8000/3000...with the new tfdata sim and apn I'm getting 8000/3000 and 135ms ping when on 3g and 32000/7000 and 220ms ping (which sucks) on 4G LTE. So... Needless to say I'd prefer the old sim... But I already gave out my new number... And I dunno if this is a spotty thing or will be fixed or just was on purpose to limit the quick pings...

Yeah but first, that's inconvenient... Second even if I did... All I have to do is lose this sim card or damage it and I'll be forced to switch eventually anyway... Might as well do it now. Besides the pings are better today. 118s...there isn't even any lte where my primary house is anyway so I'll be happily on hspa+...
