AT&T/Tmobile's galaxy S4 on Straight Talk?

    Hi,

Has anybody on the forum bought AT&T/ Tmobile's galaxy S4 and then used Straight talk's on it using the compatible SIMS?

How is your experience with the 4G/LTE service?

I asked AT&T's customer service people and they said that they don't sell just phone so I need to buy atleast one month's service plan. Is there any way around it?

    How is the throttling?

Another option for me is to buy Straight talk's Iphone 5 for $330(using befrugal.com) and then be content with 3G speed.

What would you guys recommend? Is it worth to buy AT&T/Tmobile's GS4 and then use 4G/LTE?

Try (in another AT&T store, preferably) to buy one for their no contract plan. That would probably be the cheapest way. Is the phone worth it? That's for you to decide. It's a nice phone. (I wouldn't take an iPhone for free - I got royally screwed by Jobs once, and that's as many chances as they get at me.)

As far as throttling, you get unlimited WEB BROWSING, not unlimited data (that's what the TOS says). If you use too much data (and what "too much" means depends on where you are, how much usage the tower gets, who is making the decision, what phase the moon is in, and what some alien in another galaxy had for breakfast) you get throttled.

I agree with Amazon. If you're going to buy it outright can't beat their PRIME shipping.

My 32GB ATT S4 is coming and it was purchased that way as well.

Using unlocked T-Mobile S4 with ATT sim and getting LTE. Get the T-Mobile S4. You can get them cheaper, supports all bands and has an unlocked bootloader. Plus you can unlock it for free yourself.

I'm using an At&t S4 with ST. On the ST website they are selling the sim cards for $6.99 with free overnight shipping. Awesome deal. You never know if you will be throttled but I think if you follow their TOS you have less of a chance to be throttled. I don't stream so it's not that big of a deal to me.
