How to get the $60 ($54 byod) Tbay plan.

As some of you may know there is a plan Bell and Virgin offer in Thunder bay Ontario only. It is now impossible to get the Bell one now If you are outside of Thunder bay but Virgin's is still available.
I believe everyone here knows the Virgin is Bell so no real difference anyway. I asked and received permission from mod Treatz to post the instructions here.

Go to a virgin store and sign up if you have a number you wish ported over do so.
Sign on to any plan you wish, if u have a phone make sure they give you the 10% bring your own phone discount and ask for paperless billing (you will receive an email with your bill). Then go home and register online,
Go to my profile, billing, and change your billing address to a thunder bay, just look at Google maps for a random address and find the postal code for it as well. Once you are done in the evening call 611 from your phone and press 0 to speak to a customer care specialist, do so in the evening and you will get the Philippine call centre they do not know much about geography so it seems easier, even though i had a Canadian one do mine so no real issue there. If the CSR doesn't know what plan you speak of tell him to look at the thunder bay website.
If you did bring your own phone make sure to tell the CSR to notice this and provide you with the 10% byop discount. They will not ask but tell them you want to keep your own number as you have all your friends in the GTA and since you have free nationwide calling included it makes no difference to you but this way they will not pay long distance. Later you can change your address to your current one if you wish as long as you are in Ontario you get to keep this plan.
    Good luck.

Yes Virgin has the Bell tv app with 10 hours of watching included like Bell.
Also i think call forwarding is included at Virgin where it's extra on Koodo.
Other then that they use the same network.

So ijcy's plan would only apply to people in Ontario? It wouldn't work for any other province because of the different area codes?

For a limited time till 14/october/13 you can get the $60- plan at $50- and if you bring your own device it's only $45-
What's missing though is Mobile TV and international pic messages worldwide, sms is still international.

    Thank you for the instructions!

Is it still the case that I should ask for the 807 area code rather then port in my own cell # when initially signing up in store ?

Well everyone follows the instructions so no one knows what happens if you don't. So, why don't you not follow the instructions and then you will see? And please report back!

I got the 807# and followed the instructions. Didn't take very long and for 45$ I have the best plan ever. Thank you so much!!

Do you think its wise to wait a day or two before porting my 647 number in ?

It doesn't seem to matter how long you wait when you port. Over the last 10 months some people have ported an hour later, some people a day or two, some people have waited a week and all were successful. Of course things could change at any time.

I can't find it on their site but what is the vvm add on cost? I only see the $7 bundle w mobile tv and vm25/vvm. There isn't a basic VVM one?
My Plans (Rogers): Biz Share Flex $80 (unlim stuff w 4gig) + $35 second line.
