Difference Between Samsung Galaxy Mega i527 & i527m
Anyone know the difference between the canadian version of the galaxy mega i527m and the US AT&T version i527. Honestly I am new to android and wanted to buy one of these phones. Being a noob I assumed there was only one north american version. I am canadian so I ended up buying one from a ebay seller in canada, who's auction shows what looks to be a canadian device according to the photos of the box and model number, so I ended up buying it and am currently waiting for its arrival, but then soon after I bought it, I read on another forum about someone who bought one from the same ebay seller and received a brand new unlocked AT&T version. So if this ends up being the case for me as well, will the AT&T version work the same for me on my canadian carrier Telus? Will I be able to use the Telus LTE network for data? What other differences would their be?
In general, VERY few models have a north america model; they'll have a CDMA and GSM version, and now with the joys of LTE on 2.6ghz, AWS, and several for now incompatible 700mhz blocks, you end up with a real mess of models. I don't know which is which in this specific case.
It has been my experience that nearly any unlocked android phone on the 3G/4G/GSM/LTE networks are "World" phones and can be used with any carrier that uses those networks. I would suspect that the unlocked AT&T version will work on the Telus network, I have unlocked various phones and even bought phones from east asia and used them on the Telus network with no issues. Hope this helps!
