How to check airtime on android

I know you can check airtime by going to their website but earlier while i was getting my minutes transferred i received a text from tracfone stating my balance. How do i get them to send me my balance that way so i know how much i have when i'm away from home? And would the text be cost free?

You can go into "YOUR ACCOUNT" on the tracfone.com website, and click on the "CHECK MY BALANCE". it will send you a text message and tell you online.

You can launch the "stock browser" (not Chrome). and it will take you to "a.tracfone.com". if you enter you phone number there, it will customize a page for android phones, and there will be a CHECK YOUR BALANCE, there (does use data for this though). This will also text you the balance.

    extremeuser,
The cost to receive the text with your balance is free.

Another way to get your balance is create a shortcut like this:

where 1112223333 is your 10-digit Tracfone #. Now you will be prompted to enter the last 4-digits of your phone's MEID which you can find under Menu->System settings->About phone->MEID

If you find it easy to remember those 4-digits, then you don't have to enter your 10-digit phone # required using the previous poster's method to get your balance.

Now if Tracfone would come up with a way we could request the balance from our phones without entering any numbers, that would be great.

I think they should have an app that keeps track of it without using any data, maybe by counting how much of each you use.

I think they have intentionally moved the record keeping off the phone to combat fraud, but an app on the phone to allow us to request the balance easily and for free would be nice.

It would still be nice if they had a widget that displays it, they don't have to have the only record kept on the phone.
