    New Tracfone Android Phone questions

I presently have a LG800g phone with almost 2000 minutes. If I buy either the ZTE Valet or the Samsung Galaxy Centura and transfer my phone no. and minutes to the new android phone how will this transfer to: voice minutes / texts / data. If the minutes can be used for data do I need to buy a airtime or data card to activate this phone. Last question, if I only use Wi Fi to access the internet do data charges from tracfone apply, or is this free when using wi fi?

using wifi to access the internet is free. you use data when no wifi is available.

The 2000 minutes transfer onto any of the 4 Androids as 2000 voice/ 2000 texts/ 200 MB(?) (I forget the conversion for data).

If you activate by transferring the minutes from the LG 800 then you do not need to buy an additional airtime or data card.

Having done this for my son's phone, I can answer. I transferred his number and his service. His service transferred as x minutes/x texts/x data, where x = the number of units that were on his old phone. His date didn't change. I didn't have to buy any airtime or data cards in order to activate. I did it on the website. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

    ........2000 voice/ 2000 texts/ 200 MB(?) That would be 2000MB or 2GB of data.

Oh, apparently there is a problem with transferring a large amount. You may need to call the Miami number.

If you have LESS than 1,100 minutes to transfer, you can do it on the tracfone website.

if you have MORE than 1,100 minutes, you can transfer them using the TOLL FREE number on the activation card.

I used the toll free number since I had over 2,000 minutes.

Worked without a hitch. all minutes transferred.

I transferred 2400 minutes from LG 501c to ZTE Z665c using the regular TracFone number (800-867-7183). They only gave me 2400 minutes -- no texts and no data. I called back 2x and politely explained the problem and they insisted they could not do it; that they were instructed minutes can only become minutes. I called the Miami number, 800-876-5753, and they gave me the 2400 texts and 2400mb data in less than a minute. Not surprising, but still frustrating.

Is C/dog saying that he had 2400 minutes to transfer to his new android phone and tracfone gave him 2400 minutes AND 2400 texts AND 2400 mb data? or is it 2400 minutes OR 2400 texts OR 2400 mb data?

All minutes added (or transfered) to the android phones get transformed into minutes + texts + data. Each being equal to the number of minutes added.
    So, 2400 minutes equals 2400 minutes + 2400 texts + 2400mb data.

NOTE! if you transferred all of your minutes over from another Tracfone TO the Android.......and later, you decide you DO NOT LIKE the Android, you can transfer your number back to your old phone and your service end date back ***BUT*** you will lose any minutes you transferred........

Better warned here, instead of finding out the hard way later with Tracfone reps!

If anyone has a ? as to weather you might not like the phone, just buy a 60min card and activate the phone with it,your buckets will have 180 in each, plenty to confirm, if you might like the phone. Then if you want to transfer older phone number and min you can do at that time, only out $20 if you don't want to keep the new phone.
