Which carrier are you connected to? And how is the service?

Please keep us posted as to what speeds you are getting in Germany and Amsterdam. It would be interesting to know this.

Just got off the phone with TMo rep. Still in Shanghai and upped the plan to 500 mb. It works now but very slow. Not sure how to do a speed test from the iPad. t-Mobile needs to inform there CSR's on there services. I spent 2 days on trying to figure this out. Thanks to you guys on here that suggested to going to the simple plan 500 mb.

Size: 50.6 KB Average speed is around 30-60kpbs,I will be testing the speed in Hong Kong and Germany next weekend.

If you are not able to connect, you need to press #766# to enable international roaming. It took multiple phone calls and many days and different t-mobile reps to figure it out that was the issue .

I'm on simple choice mobile broadband 500mb, because my main lines are grand father plans not eligible to roam for free

Obviously he's connected to EDGE but Im curious if thats because thats what was available or if thats what Tmobile gives you, previous reports had the global roaming connected to 3G at least but with throttled speeds.

You'll be connected to whatever data network is available to you that's compatible with your device - even LTE.
