    Adding Money When Balance Is Low or Every 90 Days Is No Longer Available

    I received the following message a couple of days ago:

    VMFreeMsg: Your AutoPay settings will no longer add money for low balance & will now automatically add money every 90 days. Click http://msg4u.us/pa9e for info.
    The referenced page says:

    The option to automatically add money to your account "every 90 days or when your balance is low" is no longer available. Your account is set to add money every 90 days; money will not be added if your account balance drops to $5 or less. To change this setting so that money is added when your balance is low and not every 90 days, log on to virginmobileusa.com, go to "Settings & Preferences" and select the option to add funds when your cash balance is low ($5 or less) from the "Auto Top-Up Settings" link.
    Apparently you can no longer have it both ways.

    Both of those were PAYGO features, PayLo is now a Monthly Service Only service.
    Those Auto Top Up options are no longer applicable to the New PayLo monthly service.

    Grandfathered accounts will not have access to Auto Top ups anymore. Which is a good thing based on the fact that Auto Top Ups were a feature that caused a great deal of dismay among some VM PAYGO and PayLo users in the past.

    The way I read it, you can have Auto Top-Up every 90 days OR when your balance drops to $5.00 or less; but you have to choose which condition you want to trigger the Auto Top-Up. That is, you can choose every 90 days, but then you have to manually Top-Up if your balance runs low; or you can choose when your balance drops to $5.00 or less, but then you have to manually Top-Up if you haven't Toped-Up in the previous 90 days.
