Tried it, could never get any confirmation on whether i could use my cdma phone. The website just stalled and timed out.

I think the website just went up and probably isn't ready yet. I didn't notice the link yesterday when I was looking around there. At least we know it's coming.

Not much info is on there yet except for this: "This program will not work with Blackberry or iPhone, nor with Straight Talk, TracFone, Safe Link, NET10 Wireless or Telcel America brand phones."

So Net10, StraightTalk, and Tracfone are becoming triplets about some things. But roaming is still a dealbreaker for me.

I wonder if they'll release AT&T/T-Mobile sim cards soon.

Wow this can be a big deal, because the androids they offered so far are all craps.

Will this be Verizon 3G only devices? Where did you find the link, I don't see one on the website? NM, found it under support "how to".

I just came to the forum tonight to share that the TF facebook page now has some "bring your own phone" related selections in the "describe your problem" drop down menu.

I would LOVE to have even a 4S on TracFone. After two months of the Centura, I love the pricing structure, but hate the phone. After using iOS devices and stronger Android phones, the Centura feels like a big step backward. But the pricing fits my needs perfectly.

It's just Page Plus being blended with Tracfone. Not Tracfone inventing something new.

Similar, but TracFone offers more flexibility than does Page Plus. 200 units per month from each bucket is perfect for me. On TracFone, I can get this with a $40 200-minute card every three months, or $13-$14 per month. A similar price point on PP would yield only 10 MB of data per month. Plus on Trac you can carry over unused units.

Anyway, didn't mean to hijack the thread. I also wanted to point out that the TracFone Facebook support I mentioned earlier had several BYOP options - one specific to CDMA, and a couple others I don't recall specifically, but they made me think that GSM might be in the works too.

I assume you are not actually paying $40 plus tax and fees?

I'm not seeing a drop down on the FB pages.

NICE! I guess everything happens for a reason. I was going to exchange my defective Centura. Looks like I'll just return it and wait for them to go live with BYOP.
Castrol EDGE 5W-30 is my drug of choice.

Anyone else running through the activation now? It works. I just bought a 'network access code' for $9.99 + tax, and now the MEID works when using it on the activation page. I am using an old Samsung Fascinate which was previously on Page Plus, and before that Verizon.

EDIT: I'm up and running! I wanted to activate with a 200 unit card but didn't want to risk it in case this messed up, so I used a 60 unit card. Shows 180/180/180 and everything is working. I got assigned a new number in a new prefix, and I can already get online. The TracFone widget for keeping track of your balance is having trouble updating, but the text message that gets sent is correct so that's fine. This is an old phone running Android 2.3 so that could be why the widget is flaky. Will upload pics in a minute.

I am off to pick up a nicer and newer 3G Android phone! I don't have an LTE phone to try and activate, but I'm 99% certain they will not activate so it doesn't matter. This is perfect timing. Now I can return the crappy Centura I bought (the earpiece is DOA!) while keeping TracFone's Android billing system. Woo!!

    Thanks coldknob!
