H2O Family Plan, How does it work?

I wanted to know how does it work?

    Does it work like this...

    #1 with $40 plan. (Main)
    #2 with $30 plan.
    #3 with $30 plan.

    Total: $100 and with discount of $10 = $90 a month?

There's no discount on the first line.
Best to make the first line 30 with 500mb and the 2nd and 3rd $40 ($30 after discount)

Unless all lines need 1000mb the it's 40-30-30 $100 total

    So, first line $30 plan with 500MB, 2nd $40, 3rd $40= $110 minus $10 per line? =$90?

I only want one line with 1GB data, rest can be 500MB.

So something like this, $30 on first line, $30 on 2nd line, $40 on 3rd line and can I still get $10 discount for 2nd and $10 for 3rd line as well?

Primary Lines do not receive $10 discount. However, primary lines can register under the $30 Month plan, unlike the sub accounts, which can only register under $40, $50 or $60 Month plans. So you will get discount on 2nd, 3rd line and so on. But they must be at least $40/mo. First line might be $30/mo.

Yes, and 2nd and 3rd lines will get 1000mb!! Best deal since slice bread!
You can also add a 4th line. So give the first line to the person who will use the least data. (wifey lol)

    Folks,

Just to add what Blacksurfer has posted. I just signed up for the family plan for my wife and oldest daughter. My wife is the primary line on the $30 plan, my daughter is on the $40 plan (really $30: $40 - $10). Total cost is $60. I'll probably add my other two daughters over the course of the year on the same $40 plan, so my total should be $120 for four lines.

I ported my wife and daughter's numbers the day after Christmas. The port took about 20 minutes. I filled out the form to port, then set up the family plan through their online chat. I had to call customer service to pay. One thing to note, you cannot pay for the family plan with a pin. So far so good.

Good deal Fort. Also remember that $40 plans get 20 int'l call credit free. $30 plan gets $5 int'l call credit and $50 plans get $40 credit.

I hope that they will change that or find some other convenient way (automated/ online ) to pay for the family plan soon.

I am in the process of switching from Airvoice to H2O and want to put my lines on the family plan. I already have 2 lines switched and 1 more to port. How do they handle the different expiration dates or do you lose your current balance when the family plan is created. I am trying to figure out the best time to port the last number. I have 1 number on H2O on the $30 plan that expires 1/22 and would want this to be the primary line for the family plan. I have another line on the $40 plan with H2O that expires 1/27. The line with Airvoice expires 1/16 and will put it on the $40 plan with H2O. When is the best time to port the last number and combine for the family plan or does it matter? Thanks

Oh yes it matters. Once you start the family plan all lines start brand new on the same date. Choose a date that's best for you and don't worry about the loss of a few dollars the first month. Think of future savings, no more calling in for 2nd half data like on Airvoice and more data than on Airvoice. You'll be paying $90 total!

But the best day is 1/16 when Airvoice is over....port early in the morning to allow time. Should take four hours or less.

That is what I was thinking. Having to contact Airvoice for what I have already paid for is a big negative and makes no sense to me at all. Cable internet went out late Saturday and have been using mobile data and I am at the end of my first 500mb even limiting my use with no way to receive the rest of my data until tomorrow.

One other question, when I port in the last number from Airvoice, will it let me port in without adding a pin for my new plan? Then I can call in and add the plan and pay for all of them at the same time?

Yes that's the only way to set up a family plan. You don't need to enter an airtime pin on the port form. Once Airvoice stops working your port is complete. Call H2O cust service to set up the family plan.

Hi, thanks for all the info guys, thinking of moving over to H2O from sprint, and have one question. Does anyone know if they have a limit to the number of lines you can add to the family plan? 5? or more? Thanks,
