    Cannot make or receive calls on new Tracfone ZTE Valet Android.

    After discussion with Tracfone support, I registered and activated the Valet in a different Zip other than the one I am currently in, but where we will be spending the summer. But now cannot use the Valet to make or receive calls. I checked the Valet for the Tracfone assigned phone number, it is 000-000-7xx2 (xx replacing the actual numbers) which is strange unto itself.

    Any thoughts as to what am I missing or doing wrong?

    It doesn't matter what zip you use, except that you will get a phone number there. But to fully activate the phone, you have to have reception where the phone is now. Then you enter *228 send and select the option to program the phone. Then you have to make a real outgoing call where someone actually answers (a "completed" call).

    If that doesn't work, check your online account for pending updates. Usually, they want you to verify something, for security or whatever.

    If it doesn't show a phone number (the last four digits that it does show, are probably the last four digits of your MEID/serial number) - then like Lisme said, you need to program the phone. No phone number = not programmed = won't work for calls/text/data.
