    Project Fi Speed Tests

Just received my Project Fi SIM today. Been testing it out, so far so good. I've been able to check whether the Nexus is connected to Sprint or T-Mobile through the LTE discovery app. I figured it would be good to start a thread of speeds people are seeing between T-Mobile and Sprint LTE. I've also tried the SIM in an unlocked Sprint iPhone 6, and a T-Mobile LG G4. Connects to T-Mobile easily, but won't allow connection to Sprint, even on the iPhone.

Oops lol. I used my iPhone to test it. Would only connect to T-Mobile, but at least something worked. Here are the results:

Nice speeds! One of the youtube reviewers was getting slower speeds on T-mobile with Fi, than a T-mobile SIM. Made me wonder.....

I've never understood why Sprint doesn't put much effort into Seattle, or for that matter most of the larger west coast cities. They have plenty of spectrum to build an excellent network.

The downside about paying for what you use, is that you can see just how much it actually cost you in $ to run a speedtest lol.

    So true

Is it your only line? I have Smartel (T-Mobile reseller) and Straight Talk AT&T too.

    Exclamation Fi speeds in Canada?

Has anyone tried to use Fi in Canada? I am an American ex-pat in BC, and Fi has a lot of advantages for me, but the 20 cents for Canada <> Canada calling is a major bummer.. I am seeing speeds advertised by Google as 3G/256kbps in Canada, but can it really be that slow? I have tried googling for reports on the (Canadian) ground but I haven't been able to find anything online.

I could use VOIP calling with either Hangouts, or voip.ms VOIP account, to get around the calling per minute charges, but at 256kbps, thats never going to work.

Despite all this, I am tempted to just do this and see how it works for me.
