    T-Mobile LTE Speed Tests

Went to MSG tonight for a basketball game . T-Mobile is extremely impressive in NY Penn station and outside from 32nd to 35th street.

The 180 Mbps speedtest was getting off the train at Penn Station

T-Mobile was useless for data at PAX South at the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center in downtown San Antonio, TX. No in-building DAS. Plenty of people were using their phones without issue on other carriers. This is the second year I've been to this event where data simply did not work.

That's pretty shocking since you had a very solid signal. I could see some congestion, but you shouldn't get a complete failure. I've seen that on a couple speed tests I was doing around town, as well. But I was in pretty marginal signal areas.

Actual strength was between -105 and -120, so it could've been stronger. Congestion was serious. I don't think the convention center has enough large events to justify implementing a DAS.

If you have Twitter tweet @NevilleRay your experience and he should reply within a few days with what their plan for improvement is for that address. Even if it doesn't justify a DAS, they could do split/additional sectors, new macro (what they did at LAX since no DAS) or at least a small cell or two.
Carriers I've used: Sprint, T-Mobile, Cricket, AT&T, Verizon, Page Plus, Virgin Mobile, Movistar, AT&T Mexico, Telcel, Straight Talk, RingPlus.

Ah, I was judging solely by the bars on your phone in the picture. I guess that test was taken in a worse signal area.

Bars on T-Mobile-sold Android devices aren't really a good measure of strength. For example, four bars on my S7 would be two or three on an iPhone as those are a bit more realistic in terms of strength.

Yes, I'm aware. But 4 bars isn't going to be a terrible signal on any device. I wonder what's really happening at that venue.

It's just congestion. Tens of thousands of people in one spot that the carriers don't have a DAS at.
