Drove by Quidi Vidi earlier but doesn't appear that the new site there on the boulevard is online yet. Other than that haven't noticed anything new unfortunately.

    Actually @mikey_nf,

after a bit of googling I've come across this interesting document online.

    http://www.stpeterscbs.ca/event_file...letinCover.pdf

It appears that Rogers approached the anglican church in Upper Gullies in mid-2014 about constructing a tower on their property. I know right now Bell also has a tower at this church (I believe inside the steeple). There was no sign of any additional coverage in this area when I drove by yesterday (phone flicked between 1 bar 3G to 1-2 bars EDGE to no service a couple of times) so a tower in this area would be a huge improvement but nothing online as of yet. I wonder if this is going ahead? Cannot find any word of it elsewhere that there was an application submitted to CBS town council.

It would be great to have improved service in the CBS area, however there are still dead areas in St. John's. Kenmount Road between Terra nova motors and Kelsey Dr and the Outer Ring between team gushue and the valley before the new tower in Pippy park calls often drop in these 2 areas. Hopefully improvements coming soon

Really? I've never dropped calls at either of those locations yet as far as I know. I have noticed signal drop down to 1 bar of LTE or 2 bars of 3G in both of those areas but never enough to completely drop a call or a data connection.

What type of device do you use? I know my Samsung Galaxy used to get more dropped calls and worse signal strength than my current iPhone 6S. Seems to be common on Samsung devices to have weak antennas.

Yeah Samsung Galaxy S5 was the last phone I had also before I switched back to iPhone in September. Nice phone for sure but I got annoyed with the signal troubles with that phone that everyone seemed to have had with it. I've heard the Galaxy S6 isn't much better either, but I haven't had any personal experience with it.

Think you're gonna re-sign with Rogers again or try a different carrier?

I'll re-sign with Rogers. No major issues espically with the extended network. Overall very happy.

Nice. Same here as well. Especially with the new network expansions.

Just hope the extended coverage service doesn't change. I travel to Carbonear a lot and need service there

Yeah I spend a lot of time in the Bonavista and Clarenville areas so I really hope they don't discontinue that either. Clarenville does have native coverage which is nice but it would be even nicer if they could expand further down the peninsula. Wishful thinking haha

I can't see it changing though. It seems they are work to expand in St. John’s and Corner Brook to gain subscribers. That's not enough to compete with Bell or Telus. So I can't see any changes... but this is Rogers we are talking about

Is the LTE ping normally that high?
