    GoPhone WiFi Calling

WiFi calling is officially working for some users in the iOS 9 beta.

Has anyone on GoPhone been able to get it working yet? I'm curious if AT&T will allow prepaid to utilize this or not. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work for my particular area yet, so I'm unable to test it.

I get the following error on my iPhone 6 when I attempt to activate Wi-Fi Calling with GoPhone:

My guess is it will come to prepaid whenever VoLTE does...and that's been available in select markets for over a year.

It looks like wifi calling has been enabled for all iPhone 6/6S devices running iOS 9 on postpaid - http://www.macrumors.com/2015/10/08/...now-available/

I am assuming it's still a no-go for GoPhone since the article says it requires HD Voice to be enabled - can anyone confirm?

I can't post images yet, but when I try to enable Wi-Fi Calling on my 6 Plus it says "We are unable to activate Wi-Fi Calling on your device because of your account type." I have the $45 1.5GB plan.

Yep, same here on the $60 plan. Here's hoping they enable it for GoPhone some time soon.

Yeah, I'm sure we'll get it at some point in the near future. I tried as well and got the same message on my 6.

It should be available on the 6/6+/6s/6s+ according to AT&T's blog post

On their blog post, it specifically states that it is for post-paid customers only. Maybe in the near future it might trickle down to go phone prepaid. Besides, from what I read about their wi-fi calling it's not that amazing. Only for US, US territories and virgin islands. And the wi-fi calling ONLY kicks in when your cell service is bad, otherwise it will continue making calls over cell towers...which honestly doesn't make sense to me from a congestion standpoint for their towers.

Personally I'm not too concerned as everywhere I go has pretty reliable AT&T service, plus I don't make much phone calls. Cell service is certainly going to improve across the country as time passes.

For whatever it's worth I tweeted them about it and got this reply, "We hear you loud and clear, thanks for the feedback! Stay tuned."
