Look at the rsrp between band 5 and 66. I'm sure indoors 5 would be at least 10 dBm better. Also, 66 is most likely 4x4 mimo, where in his s/s, 5 is 2x2.

Doubtful, band 14 is a whole new animal that will also have HPUE enabled. 80% better range at edge of cell. I know Qualcomm is doing something interesting with band 71, but not 14 AFAIK.

Yep, I locked to B5 and B66 as I was hunting for B5 sites since the region has been undergoing a very quick B5 band add rollout. Lucked up and caught what I wanted in the area since B66 PCC is barred.

No, I was passing through Jackson near the I-55 / I-20 interchange.

Correct, this was taken on a phone mounted on the dash with basically only windshield and windows to block the signals. The B66 rollout in this area is usually pretty easy to spot as the B4 side will get converted to a 4x4 signal provided by the RRUS32.

What I do wonder is how AT&T is rolling out the B5 band so quickly. Swapping out the UMTS gear on the ground and do a ground mount B5 LTE/UMTS combo on the existing feeders and antenna? Seems too quick on some sites to do a radio up top, antenna swap and pulling TMAs, feeders, etc.

Could it be possible the hardware was installed in the summer/ fall timeframe? Now they're just turning it up and tuning.

Plausible but I haven't seen them do that on things. Usually band adds are turned up pretty quick and if they were doing this it would be many more sites and not sporadic patches.

159th and Harlem in Tinley Park, IL.
Bands switched in mid test. Probably why speeds were affected. I hate when it changes mid test...

NO. Actually some UMTS gear is compatible with LTE via Software Flashing. That is what they did to eNB 242710 in De Soto, Missouri.
