I need to get away from the thinking "It's just $10-$20 and can be used as a GPS, camera, MP3 player, etc". By the time you add a case and a micro SD card, they add up. I certainly don't need five GPS devices. It's like having 5 copies of today's newspaper.
We need a AA for Tracfone collectors - I'm flying the same route .
    Cheers!

There is no 12 step program for us cell phone enthusiasts and hobbyists.
Howard Forums is an enabler but I have no intention of 'recovering' from this affliction.

I got these in store and they had tons of them.

So, what do I need to make one of these work? One of those Tracfone kits?
Where are they available? Dollar General?

I have some old Tracfones here, can I use a sim from one of them?

No, I don't you cannot use a sim from your feature phones. But an appropriate Tracfone sim should come with the Tracfone kit.

No, Sims for the branded phones on CDMA are tied specifically to that ESN. If you had a working GSM LTE account you could move the sim, but activating a new Verizon CDMA BYOP on LTE service requires that specific sim, you could use one from straight talk or net10, but you still need the NAC from the track phone service so much better just to get the complete kit.

Cheaper than collecting classic Seiko watches anyway. (A man with one watch knows exactly what time it is. A man with a bunch of watches ain't so sure ).

I thought they only had them online, so glad you posted.

You need a Tracfone 4G LTE BYOP SIM kit. There is a thread on the topic near the top of the list usually.

Not exactly! I only wear watches that sync themselves with NIST transmitter in Fort Collins, so they all display the same time.

The "horological purists" don't consider those as watches. They're "time signal receivers/monitors" .

I just want to know the exact time, thank you. I'll leave the snobbery to the purists who don't really know what time it is.

Can these kits be purchased at Wal Mart or somewhere local?
