I am wondering if a newer phone with more processor speed and rams will make a difference as well.
I haven't seen a difference with or without premium data in Vancouver. If you look on the previous page, you can see a list of speedtests I made. Those were all around Burnaby. Haven't seen above 3Mbits with or without premium.

Testing at my desk at the office right now, I'm getting 1Mbps. I think I'm going to cancel mobi.

A very good suggestion. Before you bail could you try that cryolithic?

I've been getting 5+ on premium in Edmonton, mostly, outside of congested periods. Right now I'm seeing 1-2 Mbps.
Also varies depending on which Ookla server I use. The local Shaw-hosted server seems to do better than the Telus.

Burnaby does not show blanket site coverage by either Rogers or the old Mobilicity network.
But the publicly available site data for both is almost a year old.

I am more interested in the speed of Vancouver downtown core. Just tried another one and got 83 and 104.

    83kbps down and 104kbps up. Brutal, can't even hit 10% of 1Mbps.

It appears that Rogers is applying traffic shaping big time to create the necessary user experience to have Mobilicity customers migrated over to their other brands.

I forgot to respond to this, but no. No increase that I've seen.

Those are theoretical max speeds though... Not average speeds.

    Has anyone noticed selective throttling?

I have a traffic monitor app installed and watch data speeds as I try different apps...

I notice that SnapChat seems to be throttled more than other applications, such as general web browsing. Spotify seems to be hit or miss, but WhatsApp seems to generally be fast.

Speed also seems to significantly vary based on what tower your are connected to. I occasionally get the 0kbps issue, even now.

    Anyone have similar experiences?
    Looking forward to Wind LTE!

I can't wait for this to be the norm on wireless!
