I think it's known that they throttle based on app and whatnot. If you tether you will get much faster speeds than just using the phone. I'm 100% sure they throttle the play store down to 100kb/s or lower. I've never seen it go past 100kb/s when trying to download/update apps.

During peak times, I can't connect to any websites, but some apps still connect to data and works fine. Are people having the same issues? I contacted mobilicity, but they claim its DOS attack.

Not experiencing any issues with data in Vancouver... Whereabouts are you located?

I am in Surrey. I reset my APN and everything works now. It was set by a mobilicity worker before rogers transition... I guess the settings are a bit different now

I've recently barely been able to get 1mbps down... And close to zero up. Facebook Messenger is starting to warn of "connectivity problems"... I'm supposedly on premium data, but I hardly think the few kilobytes of text should be an issue. Basically, I never get the advertised speeds of 2 mbps given to non premium users, unless I test at 2am... This is a given, but now, I'm sporadically getting zero connectivity again... Is anyone else has having this issue?

US HoFo member here. Why do you guys find these speeds acceptable? Is it an artificial throttle?

    Yes its artificially throttled.

Some of us find the speeds acceptable because we are paying $29CAD for unlimited data, north America calling, text, CID, VM.

    That's $22USD.

I treat it a unlimited calling phone with bonus iffy data.

    uptown Toronto experience:

call would drop off by the time I got to P2 level ramp.

I can still hold a call up until P3 now and even browse.

It is definitely better now on Rogers network. The data is throttled to 2Mbps up or down. The data is still workable. Don't expect too much for $25 - $29 unlimited everything grandfathered plan.

Thanks for the feedback. Does anyone have similar issues in Vancouver?

I was at a festival where there were probably a crowd of a couple thousand within a few blocks. Though it was a lot of people, it was nothing like a football game or outdoor concert... Mobi data was 0, and people attempting to call me couldn't get through. I guess even a moderate load on the network means we get no service. After trying for almost a half hour, I gave up and put my Bell sim in (and got fast speed)

I wonder if a Rogers SIM would have had the same issue.
    Bell SK+fongo:
$85 Unlimited NA, NA text, US Roaming, 15GB

    Chatrlicity:
$30 Unlimited NAM , $30 Unlimited Province Wide

It wouldn't. I have a Rogers corporate line. It works where Rogers mobi doesn't. The mobilicity is lowest priority on their network .
