It comes off of the $60 base rate. Line access remains unchanged at $40.

Yeah I saw that in pricing, which is worse for me because now I have the 20gb for $100 so I get $24 off of that vs only $14 discount if I went unlimited with it coming of only $60

I was wondering though if anyone had got a better deal through retention on unlimited.

I doubt there is any retention discount for the unlimited plan
If I'm annoyed and you're annoyed, does that make us a paranoid ??

    Excellent.

    • Was it easy or did you have to suggest you might leave AT&T?
    • Did they mention new plans?
    • Did they suggest waiting for new retention plans?

    Thanks for any info...

I called yesterday and simply asked if there was a 20GB plan and it was just that simple, still a $15.00 device fee also, no threatening to leave or anything like that. They took care of business , BUT did say they were told of something different ( maybe to answer magenta's new plan) that may be happening soon ( separate from the upcoming plans). They didn't want to say too much but I guess we'll see ( not holding too much hope )...

The first rep I spoke tried to push to get the new plans starting Sunday. I told her that I did not like the increase to 20 dollars for device fee. We went back and forth a little bit, and in the end I asked if I could speak to another rep or supervisor. I was transferred.

The second rep I told him that I had a friend transfer service from Sprint to at&t, and they got a deal for for 10gb of data for 80 and 15 dollars for the device. I read that in another thread, so used that line. He looked at my account, and said "we don't want to lose a customer that has been with us 3 years." He offered me the plan, and also offered me 20gb for 100, but I told him that the people I am adding to my account and my usage, that I do not need that much data. A few minutes more on the phone, and success. After he was done, I spoke to his supervisor to "rate his service" and "my satisfaction of the call." All is good.

-I made not suggestion that I would leave att, even though I left att in July for about 30 days to test Verizon, hated, and was able to get back my old account number, and plan.
-The first rep really did push the new plans.
-Nope, no mention of that either.

I called this past Thursday to see what was available from retentions. We have 2 phones and don't use much data. I was hoping for a 2GB plus 2GB bonus plan at around $30, but they didn't have that. I did get 2GB for $25 which was a $15 reduction in the data plan for us. Still $25 a line for the phones though. 2GB should be enough for us when the rollover kicks in, but more would of course be better.

For those who call after the weekend to see if there are new plans offered, please post what you were able to get. I'd love to get the per-phone line charge down from $25 but haven't found a way to do that yet.

I am on 20GB with rollover for $100 a month. I see no benefit in switching honestly even if we only use 5gb a month average for 3 phones. Two are $15 and the other $25 because it has payment plan for new phone. Even the new plans I see no cost savings. AT&T needs to do better.

You're comparing a retention plan to their new normal plans. Let wait and see what new retention plans they have, shall we?

You probably had 10 GB for $100 then they doubled the data? It's the same plan as 20 GB for $100.

If one were on the 15 GB for $100 plan, they could call 611 and ask to cancel to get to retentions. Retentions would then offer the following:

    10 GB for $80
    20 GB for $100
    30 GB for $130
    40 GB for $150

These will last until the new retention plans come out.

So 2GB for $75, you said you wanted 4GB, but you can get 3GB for $80 with the new plan ($10 reduction and 1GB more) too...

It's a promo of some sort, $100 is the advertised 15GB plan.

I like the hint of new retention plans...

Actually, I get 57% off MSV, MSA, & line access fees. So my 40GB/$150 plan goes down to ~$65, and my line fees are ~$18, ~$9 x2, & ~$5. I plan on switching to the new retentions plans detailed here (actually on chat right now!): http://www.howardforums.com/showpost.php?p=16707714
