    Already moved to Chatr

Data speed has been consistent today. All the time I get 3 MBPS speed in Brampton.

Also I noticed that their is a new ip while doing speed test.

74.198.131.130 -- new ip points to Rogers Wireless

207.245.236.101 -- old ip points to Mobilicity.

Yeh !! You're right. Burnaby, BC here and I get 2.93 down / 2.83 up ! Wow. that's a first ever. No wonder even my GPS has been more responsive and yesterday my phone's network was crazy and unreliable.

Here are my stats. Notice the 20Mbps at night one night. This was near Mississauga North/Brampton border.

Since the "move", I have found the following:

-Premium plan no longer exceeds 3mbps; it used to hit 7-8mbps in the middle of the night
-Data is never less than 1mbps down; no cut-outs
-Ping is much, much higher. Used to be 60ms, now always over 100-150ms

I really don't like the bad ping though.
    Looking forward to Wind LTE!

I can't wait for this to be the norm on wireless!

    "move" is right!

I am/was on Premium Data too. On Sep 23 right after our "move", Speedtest showed
    Sep 23 12:51 am: 10.98 down
    to
    Sep 23 2:55 am: 13.07 down.

    The next two days were:
    Sep 24 1:04 am: 2.26 down
    Sep 25 12:04 am: 2.90 down

The slowest that I've seen after moving is that 2.26 down number above. Even in "CDN Roaming" areas (Ajax and Oshawa), I'm seeing just under 3 Mbps.

All in all, so far I'm pretty happy that I now have a consistent, useable data service. Gone are the weekday data cutouts between around 3 pm to 7 pm or so.

About ping times, I set my iPhone SE's "Voice & Data" cellular setting to "3G" when I first signed up with Mobilicity. I went to change it to "LTE" the other day and again just now, but Apple warns me:

    Enable LTE?
This cellular network has not been certified by the carrier for LTE on iPhone. Battery life, calls, text messages, voicemail, and cellular data may be affected.
    Cancel Enable LTE

The ping times I've seen after moving are between 40 ms to 199 ms, but usually in the 60s. Should I switch to LTE? Chatr/Mobilicity keeps saying we're going to be limited to 3G speeds anyway, so I don't want to waste my battery life for extremely minor or no gain. Plus it worries me that Apple says our new network is not certified for LTE.

"Officially" how do we know that we've been moved over? Everything you're saying above may be true, but it's really just circumstantial. Doesn't look like anyone's actually received an official "welcome message" from Chatr saying that the migration has been completed.

Also, I can still login to the Mobi website using my existing login info, but I can't do the same for Chatr - doesn't even recognize my phone number.

I don't believe that it's actually happened yet.

    1. According to Mobilicity we have until September 29 to select a plan through the migration website. If that's the case, then I dont see why they'd migrate us until that deadline has passed.

    2. Also, I called both Mobilicity and Chatr customer service today. Neither was able to tell me anything specific, but both did confirm that the migration hasn't happened, only that it will happen sometime in the fall, and neither could give me a precise date.

You're confusing billing system with network.

We've migrated, network speaking. Ample evidence of that, and a net improvement on several measures.

The billing system switch will happen when it happens. Don't sweat it.

Anyone have any idea if we need to switch SIM cards for roaming abroad? Customer service says I can roam with my current sim as we haven't switched but don't want to run into any troubles when am abroad. I will be out between oct 1 to October 7

From what I remember, a new SIM card is needed if roaming outside North America.
