    Zones are Back! (new plans)

It looks like Chatr has introduced a whole slew of new plans
More data in base price but they all are zone restricted

It is sad I need to state the obvious but some people just don't get it. Any posts I make are my own OPINIONS and in no way represent the views of my employer

I don't see anything new at all. The $40 Chatr Unlimited plan continues to offer 1 GB at 3G speed, as it did back in May. In May, it was either an extra $5 to go to 2 GB or an extra $10 to go to 4 GB. That is still the same.

The cheapest regular Chatr plan to offer data is the $25 province-wide plan where you can optionally buy 1 GB for $15. This is what my girlfriend signed up for in November.

    So what is new?

The zoned plans with unlimited data have been available since earlier in the year and have always had zone restrictions. All Chatr has done is put a chart up on a fairly recently updated website to show all of the available options on the same screen, without the user needing to click on further links to access the informaiton. The pricing, features, and zones (on the zoned plans), and unlimited data allocations all remain the same as before. Chatr also continues to offer some zone-free plans.

    It is totally new
In old days there was 1 single plan with data ($40 for 1GB)
Now they have a couple options, all of which are zone restricted
This was NOT in effect last month as many people were comparing plans

No, these $40, $45 and $50 plans were already documented here at HoFo way back on April 19:

    $40 with 1GB, $45 with 2GB, and $50 for 4GB at 3Mb speeds then throttled.
The Chatr website way back showed the $40 Unlimited plan with 1 GB of data. Where it showed the 1 GB, right next to it they showed "Want more data?" (or similar wording) and if you clicked on it, a pop-up window showed an extra $5 for 2 GB total or an extra $10 for 4 GB total. Maybe you didn't click on it to see the pop-up window, or your browser blocked pop-up windows?

I believe it was you that alerted me to the new graphics/UI of the Chatr website back near the end of August. As I mentioned back then, nothing changed except for Chatr's presentation.

Where did many people note that Chatr took away their $45 for 2 GB and $50 for 4 GB Chatr Unlimited plans?

What @computergeek541 wrote above is exactly what I have seen since around May.
