Not sure if a topic on this already exists but I did not see one. Post international and domestic roaming speed tests here if you wish

All 4 carriers are congested here. Telcel has LTE here but wouldn't connect because it was so congested and when on it, it was unusable their 3G is a bit better. Iusacell and Nextel are doing a lot better than the others. Movistar doesn't have LTE here. Speedtests done in Jiquilpan, Michoacan, Mexico. It was so bad snapchat wouldn't even receive or send messages

I maybe wrong here but i believe the reason the latency is so high is because the data is sent back to us to at&t network. Can someone else chime in here on exactly how LTE roaming works.

That is correct. I am talking about the speeds not latency though.

I'm surprised all four networks were equally congested. That seems too coincidental. All of the download speeds are around 2.5-3Mbps.

Nextel and Iusacell (now AT&T Mexico) really don't have very many customers, so I'd be surprised if they were that congested. Maybe the issue is poor backhaul?

I think it was because Iusacell and Nextel were 5x5 also forgot to mention communications went down soon after (MX military was in town they shutdown communications when they go into a town so the cartels can't communicate). Also every cell tower I've seen so far is all microwave backhaul

Is AT&T that bad in Michoacan that you get extra coverage in Telcel and Movistar in Michoacan?

It was so bad snapchat wouldn't even receive or send messages
I'm not surprised that snapchat doesn't work at times in Mexico.
I get the same problems with WhatsApp...

    I'm not sure about this.
AT&T MX should have a 40 MHz of AWS spectrum, at least 15-20 MHz of PCS, 12.5 MHz for SMR (and likely own or share a small slice of the cellular "B" for the recently axed iusacell CDMA network)

This should be nationwide or almost close.

Coverage wise yes AT&T MX is pretty bad in Michoacan unless you're talking about big cities like Morelia, Zamora, etc. I prefer being on Nextel/IUSACELL when available because they get way better speeds than the others and AT&T MX does have 5x5 there I checked using cellularinfo I didn't screenshot though, I was surprised when I seen they only had 5x5 because I expected 20x20 like Telcel, and because I thought they have 40 MHz AWS nationwide like you mentioned

What app is that? I assume it's only for jailbroken iPhones?

I just read an article that said the "Nextel" and "Iusacell" alpha tags have gone away now for roaming customers, and they've been replaced with "AT&T MX". Can you confirm this?

I can confirm that is not true. On the status bar it displays Nextel or Iusacell but if you go to the carrier tab in settings ( to select the carrier you want to roam on) it shows Nextel as AT&T MX and Iusacell as Iusacell. Also it depends on location because in certain cities it will show Nextel as AT&T MX (in carrier tab in settings not status bar) and in other it will just display Nextel.
