You mean in general or just with small cells? With small cells they can deploy the two hexport antennas per sector like I mentioned above so it essentially acts like a macro, just zero footprint as far as ground equipment.

Jim McGraff, do you know if they can use a single RRU for B2 and 4, like a dual band RRU or something? I always assumed one per band
As far as I know RRUs are single band considering they are essentially just condensed radio units within an exterior shell.

Looking at the photo I'm guessing B4 and B13 is installed, although I'm not entirely familiar with all of the Ericsson RRUs.

Yeah I'm referring to the 3 particular Metrocells posted above, two are 1 panel per sector B4/13, but one of them is 2 panels per sector B4/13. These sites do have ground equipment, they just look like macros with tiny panels.

This is the new site at Calumet Avenue and 80/94 in Munster, IN:

No JMA panels on this one!

This is from 1/4 mile away from that site:

    Right next to the site:

Given how loaded up it is now I can't imagine how slow things must've gotten when B4 was -118 dbm in this area.

Those look like Amphenol hexport panels. Verizon seems to switch between those, JMA, and Commscope depending on whoever the RF engineer is.

Hmmm maybe that explains why I see different panels and configurations on every single site just about. I see more of those panels like on that site though.

They're filling in the few weak areas left and it's awesome. I could've sworn sometimes AT&T had more dead spots then good spots.

    New Verizon Site Going Up

I went down to the site today and they have been running fiber cables up inside the tower, and there's a Generac generator installed! One of the other new sites recently fired up is using an Onsite Energy generator. Neither have fuel tanks so I'd assume they're natural gas, which makes the most sense since we have plenty of that.
I haven't seen any AT&T or any other carriers sites around here with a generator installed, so it seems like Verizon will be best prepared for any disasters.

This is the site at Calumet Ave & 80/94 with the Onsite Energy generator:

Typically, Verizon has generators at almost all of their sites. Way more than other carriers have.

That uses diesel gas, which is stored in the black tank under the generator.

Oh, well that's interesting. Pretty stealthy setup in that case.

In a site going up near me, Verizon and AT&T are putting in generators, while T-Mobile and Sprint are each putting in racks of batteries.

I'd much rather have generators instead of just battery backup. TMobile wants to compare to att and Verizon and that includes sufficient backup initiatives. Without that they miss the mark from that perspective. Tmobile has a good network so hopefully they see fit to add generators more and more as things progress

How are they in your market? You seeing a lot of densification going on ?
