LG Ultimate 2 best non-LTE smartphone left for standard plan?

I have a Moto X which isn't bad, but the camera is useless and I want a better camera. I'm happy with a cheap-ish old-ish phone. I only want a standard plan so my choices are limited as far as the phones offered on the PP website that are 3G only. The LG Ultimate 2 has an auto-focus camera which has decent enough reviews for me, and it supposedly has a glass screen, which is a must-have. But it's a refurb. I have another PP refurb which appeared essentially new, but I worry I might get one that someone returned because it had issues.

I don't see another 3G only phone with auto-focus listed on their site. I anticipate folks will point me elsewhere but I am thoroughly confused about which phone are unequivocally compatible with PP since my Moto X is Tracfone branded. I realize these mobile companies are gobbling each other up but I hesitate to buy an ebay phone simply on someone's assurance that it will work with PP.

    Thanks.

Can I just ask why you're against LTE phones?

As I understand it, LTE phones can't be used on a Standard Plan that only requires a minumum $10 topup every four months. I just need a phone for occasional calls and occasional email checks when traveling.

What about Expo Mobile at ~$40/year?

ZTE Quartz, Alcatel Idol Pop Icon and LG Power L22C are some of your other choices.

Expo mobile has no data or MMS if you do the $10 90 day plans four times in one year. It also has no rollover. Lowest rate per minute though.

IMO the best phone on pageplus 3G only is the Moto G XT1028.

As others said your choices are very limited.

The LG Ultimate 2 is a very nice 3G phone. It's not too huge or too small and there's a reason why it's as popular on Verizon mvno 3g options as the Palm Pixi once was on Page Plus oh lo those many moons ago.

As I said, a previous (Moto X) refurb I bought from PP seemed virtually new. Is that the norm?

I'm currently using the LG Ultimate 2, and I'm very happy with it. Only 3G is available in the boonies, where I live, so this phone does very nicely. No complaints.

Correction: my previous 2 references to a Moto X should have said Moto E.

The Moto E 1st gen phone has the same camera as the Moto G 1st gen and Moto E 2nd gen. Only the Moto G 1st gen has flash though.

The Ultimate 2 also has a 5 megapixel camera but may be a bit better than the camera in those Moto's.

You could ask this in the Tracfone forum. There are a lot of members there that use or used this phone. There's also a long thread dedicated to it here: http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...41C%29-reviews!

It's the auto-focus I'm after in the Ultimate 2, but the extra memory won't hurt.

OK, it's not the same camera. The Moto E 2nd gen and Moto G 1st gen are auto-focus, but the Moto E 1st gen is not. And there's no front facing camera on the Moto E 1st gen.
