Smile Rogers Iphone for Chatr - Stolen?

I was looking at buying a new Iphone 5s. I found one on craigslist that the seller says is sealed in the box and locked to Rogers.

    1. This will work on Chatr for 3G/4G - or do I have to get it unlocked?

    2. Does anybody know if the Iphone 5s that was sold for Rogers has all the 3G and 4G frequencies that will work on the other carriers such as Bell and Telus in case I want to change carriers in future - or did it just come with the 1700 MHZ band?

    3. As with anything on craigslist, I have concerns that the phone maybe stolen and therefore not have a clean IMEI.
How can I verify that it is not stolen - doesn't have a bad IMEI or iclould locked? Any weblinks?

    4. I need a nanosim for the Iphone which I don't have, as I just have the regular size sim. Will Chatr charge for that?

    5. And would a phone locked to Fido also work on Chatr - or do I have to get that unlocked as well?

    Thanks.

Easiest way to verify clean IMEI is get seller to logon to his account
If it is a brand new just opened account walk away
    Seriously
If his account has been open more than 2 years and this is a new upgrade then you usually are safe

Just cut your SIM otherwise yes you need pay for new one

No idea on locking, anyone else?

In case I can't get the seller to logon to his account, can I just input the IMEI on https://www.devicecheck.ca/check-status-device-canada/ and see if it has blacklisted? Would this be sufficient?

No. Once he doesnt pay his bill it will be blacklisted, so you need to check if its a new account with a high probability that the seller would not pay the contract or not

If the seller is not fraud he should have no issues showing you how he got the phone
(Heck in some systems you can even remove the existing IMEI from his profile if he is selling it)

Fraud people make up all kinds of excuses
    Don't budge

A legit person will work with you
