Mourning the loss of my Nextel i325 but still using a bag phone.

I've been on that firmware since Feb. I checked for update as soon as I got it. No problems running it but can't say whether the old firmware may have been better.

I hope the lack of posts to this thread means everybody's happy with their service.

I had a mild scare last night when my extremely reliable 20mbps internet went down to almost nothing. Since my home base is hooked up to a highly directional parabolic grid antenna tuned to band 2 I hoped that it was just a localized tower problem.

This morning I ran a Speedtest and got 45mbps down and 14mbps up. Since the highest I've previously gotten was 30 down I checked the tower stats on my iPhone and found that the bandwidth on my tower was increased from 10mhz to 15mhz. This is all with a signal strength of about 108dbm. I can't wait to see what I get when the leaves come off the trees.

This all won't really affect me much as 20 was plenty but after 20+ years on dial-up and satellite it really rocks my boat!

I'm not techie by any stretch, just for the record. I'm looking at this 250g plan and it's perfect for what I need! My only concern is I have spotty coverage at best at my house. I could have 1 bar on my phone, move 5 feet away and drop the call. I want to mount some sort of antenna with this device. Is that hard to do? Is there a certain antenna I should use. I was looking at a WeBoost antenna but it's kind of pricey. Any info would be great! Thanks!

You probably will not even need an external antenna. I have zero signal on my cell phones but this device works just fine.

Unless I am misunderstanding how this antenna thing works with this device, is there any type of antenna that could work without taking about the unit to install it? I would like to put some sort of antenna on an outside pole and run the wire/cable to something inside the house (possibly this AT&T unit itself). Is there a way or product that can do this?

You basically need a pigtail with a ms-156 connector on one end and whatever connection you need on the other end. Search this thread and you should find what you need. There isn't one simple solution that works for everyone.

Are you saying this pigtail with a ms-156 connector plugs into the at&t unit without taking it apart?

No... the device needs to be taken apart. Numerous pictures and posts in this thread on how to do that... its not that hard.

Try without since you can receive a cell signal your probably not even going to need an external antenna

The "taking apart" only requires that you slide the bottom off. I went the hardware mod because those damn ms-156 kept popping off. I have to cover my unit with aluminum to force it to connect to the stronger, faster, rural tower then reconnect the antenna.

I recently saw a video with this product on it. This is not a "plug" for a product, but simply trying to see if anyone else has tried it. Has anyone? https://www.amazon.com/IRCtek-CDMA85...peater+Booster
