Tested with GusHerb and mrizz and can confirm that it isn't active either way for VZ to T or T to VZ.

    Galaxy S7 - Carrier Aggregation Band 30 10 MHz PCC + Band 4 10 MHz SCC + Band 12 10 MHz TCC

Same here, VZ to T and vice versa is not HD Voice in California.

It's working here in FL on Verizon to AT&T, only on outbound calls though.

Cross carrier HD voice needs to happen ASAP. Otherwise, I see little reason to use HD and/0r VoLTE voice. Just stick with the proven UMTS and 1xRTT voice systems.

I still to this day don't understand why att hasn't implanted hd voice over their umts systems like T-Mobile. They surely can handle it

No point in doing it at this point. There was a point back in 2011 when T-Mobile implemented it. They had a smaller network so it was easier to get it up and running. Great marketing too. In 2011 AT&T was too busy building out their network to Verizon's size. Expansion took priority over new technologies. They aren't going to invest any more money into a dead technology when there is no revenue involved.

"into a dead technology" - is there a replacement on the way? (nevermind, jakeuten meant HD-Voice over UMTS)

    Cross carrier hd voice

There's every point to add it for the consumer experience and to not have a huge degradation in call quality when in transition of a call handoff to UMTS. It's a simple software upgrade but att likes to rest of their laurels and only do half *** deployments. Like their VoLTE rollout still missing millions of PoPs from their network.

Also the tech isn't dead as they've not formally announced any UMTS shutdowns. The tech is very much alive and well as their whole prepaid marketshare depends on it.

A simple software upgrade that could require new hardware at some legacy 3G sites. Nothing involving cell networks (or most things, really) is black and white.

Their VoLTE rollout covers most of their network that has LTE. Those parts that are missing are cell sites that see little to no traffic... the equipment on those sites can be as old as 2012 or 2013 which didn't support CSFB. They ripped and replaced their LTE network to do VoLTE for the sole purpose of having CSFB. T-Mobile started their VoLTE rollout when the equipment for this technology was widely available and affordable. Verizon cannot do this so VoLTE for them was as simple as a flip of a switch. Only AT&T had to replace their existing equipment which is extremely expensive and they are still working on it.

As for the huge degradation... not sure how you're seeing any form of degradation because as from what i've observed and heard CSFB is not enabled anywhere on the network... so if you lose LTE coverage you'll drop the call.
