    AT&T FAN Discount

What is a FAN discount and how is it obtained? What is the largest FAN discount that's ever applied?

What other account discounts does AT&T offer or have available?

A FAN discount is a Foundation Account Number, typically obtained through an employer, educational institution, or other organization that AT&T has a relationship with. Once you apply it to your account, it will stay on your account and on any of the Mobile Share plans (original Mobile Share, Mobile Share Value, Mobile Share Advantage), it would apply to the data portion of your bill. On the now-gone DirecTV Unlimited Plan, it would apply to the $60 "data" portion. It does not apply to the new unlimited plans.

You can check with your work or school email address here or go to an AT&T store: https://www.wireless.att.com/business/enrollment/

I don't know the largest, but most people consider a 15-25% window very good. Most colleges and universities get 10-15% for students, faculty, and staff.

The only other discounts are the $25 toward TV service on the new Unlimited Choice plan (not sure how that actually shows up) and the occasional BOGO deals on phones (you're billed for the "free" phone every month for two years, and a bill credit for that amount is applied - this makes it free, but only if you stay through the two years).

AARP gives 10%, it adds up. (Anyone can join AARP)

Sadly, the new unlimited plans, don't take FAN discounts.

I rarely see over 30%. Seems like Walmart management gets something insane like 80%.

Nissan employees get 19%. Of course now that I am on new unlimited it doesn't apply. On top of the monthly discount there are sometimes discounts on accessories or waived activation fees or there could be other perks that are specific to the organization.

There are also discounts currently if you sign up for auto-pay. either $5 or $10 off your monthly charges depending on unlimited plus or unlimited choice.

The $25 discount mentioned in the above post is supposed to apply to the DirecTv portion of the bill. I think a few people have already seen it show up on OLAM when they have checked it recently. If you have unified billing you would have to look at the DTV portion of the bill to see it. I am waiting for mine to show up still.

I work for a large insurance company and we get 26% off (the price of the plan itself). Though that's meaning less and less with the shifty ways AT&T prices everything (or just flat out excludes the discount).

Yes, and Military discounts are the only ones to be applied on the new unlimited plans

The discount also applies to first Unlimited without DTV, just the $60 part not the $40 access fee.
If you go to the store then you have to present a pay stub or work ID.

I'm wondering if AT&T Corporate Account managers can apply FANs for employees.
It's easier to ask the boss of IT and have him email his account manager to get the FAN added...

No, FAN account discounts do not stack.

I get 15% for being a Union member plus activation fee/upgrade fee waiver. For being a state employee I get 15% off too, but not a waiver on upgrade/activation fees.
    Carrier History:

    T-Mobile 4/2016 - 8/2016

How does FAN work if you have a corporate wireless account with AT&T?

If it's small/medium business account (i.e. you log into Premier), I think there is something that gets negotiated between the business and AT&T when setting up the account. We have a few reps that are assigned to our account and get a certain percentage off different kinds of services. I'd imagine for a large company, there's probably even more behind-the-scenes work that goes on. This would be for the Corporate Responsibility Users (CRUs) where "work" is paying the bill and owns the number.

If it's an Individual Responsibility User (IRUs), that would be your own, personal account where you own the number and apply some sort of FAN number for a discount.
