    Cricket stream more

Stream More, a feature that helps nEXTgen customers save data by streaming certain hi-def videos at standard definition quality (think hi-def viewed at normal dvd quality), is being activated for all data plans on April 2, 2017. Cricket will automatically activate, but our customers are in full control and can turn it on and off of their eligible lines via My Cricket or My Account at any time. Customers must be migrated to NextGEN to use Stream More.

What's nEXTgen and how do I know if I have it?

I'm assuming the screen above is only shown on official cricket devices with recent software updates. Do BYODs have this option, and do they also get automatically defaulted?
Been gone a long time. Hello, HoFo- I'm BACK.

I believe this is only for those who have swapped sims from Jasper to AT&T. I manage an elder relatives Cricket plan which uses Jasper.

It is in the my cricket app when I go to line details. Perhaps it might be your account hasn't be enabled yet. Not sure why mine is showing vs. not.

Ah, I don't use the app. When I BYOD, I like no branding whatsoever.

I'm looking at the website portal, don't see anything about it there.

I have a BYOD Galaxy S7Edge from AT&T. I have an option in Line Settings and Stream More, but there is no option for me to turn it off as shown in the screen shot above.

I don't see the option anywhere... in app or online. It showed once yesterday while the line info was loading on the app, but once it loaded it disappeared. Failboat.

I just chatted with support and they seemed to indicate that StreamOn will only be available for Cricket Wireless branded devices, at least initially.

Why would it matter what device you have? Isn't this provisioned by the sim card? I have Cricket 5s with new white sim on ATT servers and don't see any option when I log into the website. Have't tried the app (don't have it installed).

It's done network side, not phone side.
    https://www.cricketwireless.com/supp...ream-more.html

On their support page for Stream More, it even says videos while tethered will be affected. Just have to wait until it's active on your account, similar to being migrated.

Persinally, I don't want it. It means that the carrier is checking the packet headers to identify video and then reencoding it before it's sent to you. Also, 480p looks like *** on a 1440p screen. :P
